Our company carries out major contracts including earthworks such as golf course construction and land reclamation, demolition of industrial buildings, land drainage and irrigation as well as civil engineering works.
Major projects include the earthworks for The Alnwick Garden one of the largest landscaped gardens built in Europe. regeneration of a coastal bay in Northumberland and the earthworks on Burgham Park Golf Course etc etc.
Our company was formed in 1957 by Robert Thornton Senior who purchased a single JCB excavator and started hiring to local companies in the Northumberland area of the United Kingdom.
Today it is owned and managed by 3 brothers, Melvin, Ian and Robert Thornton. Since the companies inception in 1957 it has grown into a well run multi million pound company employing 25 well trained members of staff.
